NOVEMBER 21ST - CHRIST THE KING

1st Reading: Daniel 7:13-14
2nd Reading: Revelation 1:5-8

Gospel: John 18:33b-37

In today's Gospel, the Lord reminds us who is really in charge and who has the real power in this world. Lest we forget, we are reminded today on the solemnity of Christ The King, that His dominion and His Kingship shall not be taken away. So, if we think we are some kind of a king or a queen in this life and in our own life, think again. We all are just servants of Christ The King!

As we celebrate Christ the King, the Lord invites us also today to reflect on truthfulness, "for everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice." The Lord speaks to each one of us in our conscience. We do hear God's voice within. It's just that we often refuse to listen to it or turn it down or shut it off. Instead of listening to our King, we end up disobeying our King. Lest we forget, the voice within us is the voice of our King.

Please find time today to consecrate, once again, yourself or ourselves to Christ the King. Let this be our prayer, "Oh Christ my King, I put myself under your care and protection. All that I am and all that I have is from you. From you I came, to you I go back in the end. Help me to live a life pleasing to you as a humble, truthful, obedient to your voice and loving servant of yours. Amen.”
