ADVENT OFFERING CHALLENGE
The Advent season prepares us for Christmas, the birth of Jesus. Beginning Sunday, November 30th, the parishioners are asked to make a prayer or sacrifice each day until Christmas Eve. Please check the list below. Each of your sacrifice and/or prayers will gain you a straw to place on the crib where our baby Jesus will rest.
Straws will be available on the back tables behind the pews and we invite you to come up to the altar before or after mass to place on the crèche.
By Christmas, the baby Jesus will rest on all the straws we have offered!
2024-12-13 | Attend the holy rosary at 6:30pm inside the church, in honor of Our Lady of Fatima or pray the rosary at home. |
2024-12-14 | Go to Confession and ask for God’s forgiveness. |
2024-12-15 | Advent Novena 12/16 - 12/24 |
2024-12-16 | Donate part of your weekly allowance or weekly pay to help Catholic Relief Services or Catholic Charities. |
2024-12-17 | Attend a weekday Mass. |
2024-12-18 | Read and meditate on the Gospel of Luke chapter 2. |
2024-12-19 | Reach out and thank someone who has been a good influence in your life. |
2024-12-20 | Listen to Christmas music and meditate on the joy and hope that Jesus’ birth brings. |
2024-12-21 | Learn and recite a prayer that you do not know by heart. |
2024-12-22 | Clean up a mess that somebody else made without complaining. Offer it up! |
2024-12-23 | Share family memories of past Christmases. How had Jesus touched your hearts? How have you felt God’s love through others? |
2024-12-24 | Attend St. Callistus Church’s Children’s Liturgy at 5:30 pm or pray for the children in our Parish. |
